Aayiu's second rating tournament triumph
Aayiu Atindrya Shetty made a scorching start by scoring a double hat-trick of wins. He had a full point lead going into the last round. Ilio-Phoem Stanculet (ROU) was the sole player trailing him by a full point at 5/6. Aayiu defeated Ilio-Phoem to become a clear champion with a 100% score. The total prize fund combining all four tournaments was €5000. The total participation was - 137, 73 in Open, 18 in Under-8, 26 in Under-10 and 20 in Under-12.
A total of 26 players took part from India, Romania and Ukraine. The three-day seven round Under-10 Rating tournament was organized by CS Sparta Techirghiol and the Local Council of Techirghiol, the Techirghiol City Hall, with the support of DJS Constanța at Techirghiol, Techirghiol Sports Hall & CS Sparta Techirghiol Hall in Techirghiol, Constanța County, Northern Dobruja, Romania from 4th to 6th July 2025. The time control of the event was 60 minutes + 5 seconds increment from move no.1.
