Aarit Kapil and Krisha Tamhant Jain are 38th National Under-11 Open and Girls 2025 Champions
CM Aarit Kapil (DEL) scored an unbeaten 9.5/11 to win 38th National Under-11 Open Championship 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. Oishik Mondal (WB) scored 9/11 to finish second. He also remained undefeated. Advik Amit Agrawal (MAH) edged past five more players on tie-breaks to be placed third scoring 8.5/11. Krisha Tamhant Jain (MAH), Divi Bijesh (KER) and Pooja Shree R (TN) scored 9/11 each. Krisha became champion due to better tie-breaks, the defending champion, Divi was placed second and Pooja had to settle for third place. First National title for both Aarit and Krisha
CM Aarit Kapil (DEL) was the sole leader 9/10, heading into the final round. He was a full point ahead of the rest. A draw was enough for him to become a clear a champion and that's what he did against Narendra Agarwal (WB). Krisha Tamhant Jain (MAH) was the sole leader 9/10, going into the last round. She was a full point ahead of the field. A draw was enough for her to become a clear champion. However, she lost to Pooja Shree R (TN). Having good tie-break score helped Krisha become the champion and the loss did not affect it. Pooja finished third. The defending champion, WCM Divi Bijesh (KER) defeated Bhumika Waghle (MAH) to secure second place. This is the first-ever National triumph for both Aarit and Krisha. All players were given ₹100 for each win, ₹75 for a draw and ₹50 for a loss in each round at the prize distribution ceremony.
Advik - Aarit, Round 6
Advik Amit Agrawal (MAH, 2251) and CM Aarit Kapil (DEL, 2050) had a wild game. It could have gone either player's way. In the above position, White's only defense was 46.Bh4! It is not easy to find. White played 46.Qh8+?? which turned out to be the final mistake Kg4 47.Qg7+ Kxf4 48.Qh6+ Ke4 49.Nf3 Ne3 50.Qh4+ Qxh4 51.Nxh4 Bxa2 and Black won.
Divi - Krisha, Round 9
Divi Bijesh (KER, 1944) got herself a winning position early in the game against Krisha Tamhant Jain (MAH, 1814). However, she could not capitalize it and eventually blundered 33.Qd3?? Find out the winning combination for Black which Krisha found and executed in the game.

The tournaments were organized by Jalgaon District Chess Association at Anubhuti School in Jalgaon, Maharashtra from 2nd to 8th August 2025. The eleven-round Swiss league rating tournament had a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1
