There has been no shortage of digital ink spilt touting the wonders of this new release, and understandably this should come as no surprise. However, this release really does stand out for its remarkable innovative features.
Imagine a program that can take a look at the games of a player and then break down how they play with all their stylistic tendencies based on plain and clear statistics, and then summarize the main points for you in clear English. Take Mikhail Tal. Sure you know he loved to sacrifice, who doesn't know that? But numbers telling you that between 1958 and 1961 he sacrificed in 46% of his games and that the grandmaster average is 20%. Now apply this to yourself or your opponent and you can now better understand yourself and prepare against your next opponent.
How about the Error report which can tell you mercilessly where you are making the most mistakes, and therefore where you need to do the most work. It will even estimate your Elo based on how well you play depending on the complexity of the position.
Want more? Well, you know the adage: a picture is worth a thousand words. How about a video?
