FIDE has extended the registration deadline for the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championship to October 16, 2026. The event takes place in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, from November 4 (arrival) to November 13 (departure).
Players will compete in Open and Women's sections within three rating categories: Under-2300, Under-2000 and Under-1700. Each rating category will also get its own Women's Championship, provided it has a minimum of ten participants from two or more continents.
Players must be entered through their national federations, and there is no limit on how many each federation can send.
Each championship is a nine-round Swiss. The time control is 90 minutes per game with a 30-second increment from move one.
All players, accompanying persons and delegation members must register by the new deadline.
