मद्रास टाइगर नींद से जाग चुके है !! भारत के लिए आज ताल मेमोरियल से अच्छी खबर आई है भारत के पाँच विश्व चैम्पियन विश्वनाथन नें अजरबैजान के ग्रांड मास्टर ममेद्यारोव को बेहद ही सधे हुए अंदाज में पराजित कर एक आत्मविश्वास देने वाली जीत दर्ज की पहले राउंड में अनीश गिरि से अच्छा बचाव कर ड्रॉ खेलने वाले आनंद आज भी काफी अच्छी चाले चलते हुए नजर आए , अच्छी बात ये है की वो सही समय पर बेहतर चाल ढूंढ पा रहे है जो उनके अच्छी लय को दिखाती है । अनीश गिरि भी अब जीत दर्ज करने लगे है और कैंडिडैट टूर्नामेंट के बाद उन्होने अपनी शैली में और सुधार किया है ,बाकी सभी मैच ड्रॉ रहे दो राउंड के बाद भारत के आनंद , नीदरलैंड के अनीश और रूस के इयान नेपोमनियाचटचि 1.5 अंक बनाकर सयुंक्त बढ़त पर चल रहे है ।
आठवे विश्व शतरंज चैम्पियन सोवियत ग्रांड मास्टर मिखाइल ताल की याद में हर साल 2 लाख अमेरिकन डॉलर पुरुष्कार राशि वाले ताल मेमोरियल अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शतरंज स्पर्धा का आयोजन हर वर्ष मॉस्को मे किया जाता है । भारत के पाँच बार के विश्व चैम्पियन विश्वनाथन आनंद अमेरिका के सिंकिफील्ड कप के बाद एक बार फिर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मुक़ाबला करते नजर आ रहे है । प्रतियोगिता 25 सितंबर से 6 अक्टूबर के बीच खेली जावेगी । आनंद (2776)को प्रतियोगिता में तीसरी वरीयता दी गयी है । प्रतियोगिता में पूर्व विश्व विजेता रूस के व्लादिमीर क्रामनिक (2808) को पहली वरीयता दी गयी है । अन्य ग्रांड मास्टरों में अर्मेनिया के दिग्गज लेवान अर्नोनियन (2795) ,अजरबेजान के ममेद्यारोव (2761),नीदरलेंड के अनीश गिरि (2755),चीन के ली चाऊ (2746),रूस के पीटर स्वीडलर (2745),इसराइल के बोरिस गेल्फ़ांद (2743),इयान नेपोमनियाचटचि (2740) और एवगेनय टोमशेवस्की (2731) प्रतिभागिता कर रहे है ।

यह इतिहास में पहला मौका है जब भारत का तिरंगा शीर्ष दस में दो स्थान पर आया है ! गर्व है !
