The first ChessBase India online blitz tournament
The 1st ChessBase India online blitz tournament will be held on the 12th of November 2016 on the playchess server at 6 p.m. IST (1.30 p.m. server time). The tournament is open to all the players of the world and the prizes are quite tangible. The first place winner gets nine months of ChessBase Premium Account! The time control is 3 minutes 2 seconds increment and there will be in all nine rounds. You can participate even if you are not a playchess member. All you have to do is follow the steps in the article.
The first ChessBase India online tournament will be held on the 12th of November 2016 on playchess at 6 p.m. Indian Standard Time (server time 13.30 which is also Central European Time) The tournament is open to players all over the world and will be held in the room "Official 1."
Prizes
The Prizes of the tournament are the following:
1st place: 9 months (270 days) of ChessBase Premium Account.
2nd place: 6 months (180 days) of ChessBase Premium Account.
3rd place: 3 months (90 days) of ChessBase Premium Account.
Three lucky prizes of one month ChessBase Premium Account for places 16, 26 and 36.
Format
The format of the event will be 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment. The tournament will be of nine rounds.
How to play in the tournament?
1. Download the free windows software of playchess
Firstly you have to download the free native Windows software. You should go to play.chessbase.com and scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Click on the Free Download button.
Login or create an account
After you have installed the Playchess client. You must login.
Enter your playchess username and password if you have one. (Note, for all the ChessBase Account Premium members, your login credentials will work). If you do not have a Username, you must click on "Create New Player Name" and create a new account. This is free of cost and gives you free access to Playchess for a few days. It is important that you register, because "guests" cannot access the tournament rooms.
On the bottom right of your screen you will see the pane rooms. Click on the "tournaments" room and then on "Private 1". The tournament will be held in the room Private 1.
Once you are in the Private 1 room, click on the tab "players" on top left part of your screen and then click on "Join Event". Do this a few minutes before the tournament begins and the tournament admin will add your name in the list of participants.
