The Indian challenge is being led by GM Vidit Gujrathi who had previously won this tournament in 2014. He won the first round but settled for a draw in the second.
Black played creatively by transferring the rook from a8 to c5, and create play in the queenside.
White just pushed a2-a3. What is the only move to continue that Vidit must have foreseen?
Russian phenom GM Vladislav Artemiev beat GM Vladimir Onischuk (2615) by applying pressure on both the flanks.
