Interview with Apoorv Kamble

Devansh Singh (DS): How does it feel to win this tournament?

Apoorv Kamble (AK): It is a great feeling to win such a strong closed tournament, while staying unbeaten throughout, which was one of my goals before the tournament.

(DS): Which match was the toughest for you and why?

(AK): The 6th round game against Palczert Matyas was toughest because after a dry equalish opening, i was seemingly getting outplayed and i was low on time but then my opponent made a few mistakes after which i got a 4 v 3 drawn rook endgame in which i was trying to make progress for a long time and i got a winning opportunity near the very end but missed it. This game was quite exhausting and challenging as it lasted a bit over 5 hours

(DS): What is one lesson this tournament taught you?

(AK): This tournament helped me lose the fear of stronger players and helped me realise that it is not as hard to beat them

(DS): Anything else you'd like to share, maybe a game from the event?

(AK): The SixDays Budapest tournament was very well organized, and i would like to thank the organizer for such wonderful playing conditions
