India wins 43 medals at Asian Schools Chess Championships 2022

by Shahid Ahmed - 16/12/2022

India has won a massive 43 medals including 20 individual (10 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze) medals, 23 team (8 Gold, 10 Silver and 5 Bronze) medals at Asian Schools Chess Championships 2022. Sharvaanica A S is the only Indian who has won a Gold medal in all three formats - Classical, Rapid and Blitz in Under-9 Girls category. She won Gold with a perfect score of 9/9, 7/7 and 7/7 respectively. Sidhant Rana won two Gold and a Silver medal, Vedika won a Gold and two Silver. IM Raahil Mullick won a Gold and a Bronze medal. 11 Indians have won at least one medal in this event. Photo: Prashant Mullick

Sharvaanica scores a Perfect Golden hat-trick

India has won a staggering 43 medals. It is a resounding, despite not having enough Indian participants in few age groups to become eligible for team medals and Under-13 Open category having no Indian players. Shaarvanica A S has won a total of six Gold medals combining both individual and team, one each in three formats - Classical, Rapid and Blitz. Since she has made a perfect score in all three events, her record will never be broken, it can only be tied by other future players, something which is not going to be easy at all. Aarav Sarbalia clinched four Golds, Mithun Pranav won three Gold and two Silver, Hridaan A Shah won three Gold (team), IM Raahil Mullick and Diya Digamber Sawal earned two Gold, two Silver and a Bronze each, Sidhant Rana secured two Gold and a Silver, Vedika Pal won two Gold and four Silver, Md. Reyan received a Gold, a Silver and two Bronze.
