Abhirami Madabushi wins Telangana Smart Girl FIDE Rated Open 2020

Top seed of the tournament 16-year old Abhirami Madabushi of Telangana scored 8.0/9, remained undefeated and finished a half point ahead of the field to clinch Smart Girl FIDE Rated Open Telangana 2020. Nanditha V of Telangana scored 7.5/9 to finish at second position, Bhilva Nilaya K E K of Andhra Pradesh secured third position bettering the tie-break score of five other players who also finished with the same score. The tournament had a total prize fund of ₹25000. It was organized by Telangana State Chess Association from 25th to 29th January 2020 at Hyderabad, Telangana. Top seed becomes unbeaten champion

Starting out as the top seed of the tournament, 16-year old Abhirami Madabushi of Telangana scored an unbeaten 8.0/9, finished a half point ahead of the competition to win Smart Girl FIDE Rated Telangana 2020. Nanditha V of Telangana scored 7.5/9 to secure the runner-up position. Six players finished at 6.5/9, out of them Bhillva Nilaya K E K of Andhra Pradesh secured the second runner-up position due to a better tie-break score.

Abhirami faced both eventual runner-up and second runner-up

Prize distribution ceremony was held in presence of Chief Guest Mr. K S Prasad, Hon.Secretary, Telangana State Chess Association, Mr. Shaikh Saidulu, EC member, TSCA & Secretary Khammam District Chess Association and FA Abhijeet Vaishnav, Chief Arbiter.

Total 63 women participated from three states across the country - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana. There was also a participant from New Zealand federation. The tournament was organized by Telangana State Chess Association from 25th to 29th January 2020 at Hyderabad, Telangana. Total Prize fund ₹25000 was distributed among the prize winners.
