Zhu Jiner vs Arjun Erigaisi (0-1)
This was the second time that Zhu Jiner and Arjun Erigaisi got paired up in a classical format. The last time both players played a classical match was in 2022 in Tata Steel Challengers, where Arjun dominated the field and secured 1st place and qualified for the Masters. In that game, Arjun managed to win with black pieces, and the same thing happened here.

After grinding this endgame for a long, long time, Arjun got the opportunity when Jiner played 50.Kc3, which allows Ra3+ followed by Rg3 defending the g6 pawn. Better was to play 50.Ke3 and going after the g6 pawn with the king.
Andy Woodward vs Magnus Carlsen (0-1)
This was 1st classical battle between Woodward and Carlsen, and Andy blundered in an equal position. The game started with Carlsen playing the King's Indian Defence with black pieces, and in a complex middlegame, Carlsen got the advantage of Woodward's back rank weakness and found a nice tactical combination resulting in winning the queen.

Andy Woodward played 30.Nd4, which allowed 30.Ra8 exploiting the back rank weakness, the game followed with 31. Nxe6 Qxe6 32. Bd3 Ra1+ 33. Kf2 Nf6 34. Ra7 Rh1 35. Ke2 Nh5 36. Qa2 g4 37. f4 Ra1 38. Qxa1 Bxa1 winning the queen.

Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus vs Nodirbek Abdusattorov (0.5-0.5)
This was the 4th Classical format clash between these two players; earlier, the results were in favour of Abdusattorov as he won 1 game and drew 2 games with Yagiz. In the most recent encounter at Tata Steel 2026, the game ended in a draw. Here at TePe Sigeman & Co 2026, both players played a solid draw, and Yagiz is in joint second place with Magnus.

Jorden van Foreest vs Nils Grandelius (0.5-0.5)
Jorden got some great chances in the game with Nils, but eventually the game ended in a draw. It was Nils' second draw in 6 rounds, and he has yet to win his first game.
