Receiving his World Juniors Bronze medal!

Ved along with the winners!

Ved's scorecard during the tournament. He gained 131 Elo points. His only two losses came against the top two finishers of the tournament!

Ved was the 12th seed by rating (1700) among 17 players. Followers of ChessBase India will remember him from the Super Heroes Cup in March, where he beat Darshan Kshirsagar in the round of 16 and gave Darpan Inani a tough fight in the quarterfinals.

IM Satyapragyan, who was with the Indian team in Crete, called him "Ved is a very determined player and in couple of games his will to win was amazing. Considering this was his first International tournament winning bronze was great. He will do well in future too. A good prospect!", adding that winning bronze in his first international tournament was great. Ved trains at the Chess Pathshala Academy with GM Swapnil Dhopade and his full-time trainer is Shubham Lakudkar.
