In a shameful incident that occurred in Mattewada of Warangal in Telangana, the city police registered a case against Telangana State Chess Association secretary Annam Chinni Venkateswarlu for posting obscene material in a WhatsApp group.
The complainant Pedada Sivakrishna of Bank Colony, Warangal, who is a civil engineer, lodged a complaint with the Mattewada police. He said that he was added as a member of the TSCA009 WhatsApp group by Venkateswar Rao.
The group had many members including girls and women. The posting of obscene videos and photographs hurt the sentiments of the members. The group was meant for sharing chess updates and sharing of information relating to the tournaments.
Mr. Sivakrishna handed over his mobile phone to the police for evidence. More information will be made public when details are known.
