by Dipika Joshi - 05/02/2017

A blitz tournament for a few hours, consisting of nine rounds, was held at Malleswaram, Banglore. One International master took part. However, it was untitled Shiva S who won the event with 7.5/9. He beat top players and was the deserving winner of the event. Our correspondent Dipika Joshi was at the venue and sent us pictures which can be found in the report.

Rainbow Club Kidz Library and Universal Chess Academy organized a nine-round blitz event at Malleswaram, Bangalore. The time control was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment. Forty-five players participated, including an international master, to fight for the first prize of INR 5,000/- + Trophy.

The tournament was very well conducted and took approximately 2+ hours to complete 9 rounds. What else (does) a chess player need — a perfect Sunday with 2+ hours of thrill! Tournament venue was Sri R. Gundurao Sports Complex and it is located very close to Mantri Square Mall, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru.

Apart from the winner's trophy there were plenty of other little ones as well
This time organizers offered 3 trophies for the winner, the runner-up and the third spot!
Without these small ticking clocks, a blitz tournament would not have been possible!
