Visakh continues his impressive run

This is Visakh's fourth individual triumph of 2022. He won the Trakehner Open 2022 on 31st July 2022 where he dominated with a 100% score 7/7 and finished 1.5 points ahead of the field. Then he won 24th Wasselonne Open 2022 on 7th August. He was also the top Indian performer at 55th Biel Chess Festival Masters Tournament (MTO) 2022. Visakh generally dominates all the tournaments which he wins. This is the minimum margin of his triumph - one point, highest was 2nd San Leo International Open where he finished two points ahead of the field. It goes without saying that, Visakh is having a fantastic year so far.

Visakh - Katz, Round 9

Position after 18...Nb4

GM Visakh N R (2542) played sharp chess throughout the tournament. Last round against IM Alexander Katz (USA, 2412) was no different either. 19.Nf6+ Kg7 20.Qg3! the f6-knight is tactically defended Bb8 21.Rfe1 well now both knights are tactically defended. 21...Nc6 time to smash the position 22.Rxc6 Qxc6 23.e5 d3 24.N4h5+ Kh8 25.Qe3 prompted Black to resign as the checkmate is inevitable. What a beautiful way to finish and win the tournament.
